The Farm
We are the 7th and 8th generation from our family of farmers on this land. We aim to be good stewards of the land by rebuilding soil organic matter and restoring degraded soil biodiversity. We farm the way our ancestors farmed - by raising livestock with no antibiotics or hormones, in the sunshine on pasture with access to shelter. Animal husbandry is a family affair. We are passionate about this life and preserving it for generations to come by respecting the animals and land.
The Project Funded
The grant helped us repair a critical high-use area on the farm between barns where we run heavy equipment. A load of stones helped to maintain the road and to eliminate flooding.
The Project Impact
We have poured sweat equity into this farm since 2016, improving barns built in the 1940s and 60s. The grant helped us repair the critical high-use lane between our barns, with a load of stone that maintains the road and stops the flooding.
