The Farm
We are a two acre farm in the Black Hills of South Dakota. We raise our own meat except beef by raising chickens, pheasants, turkeys and pigs. We raise KuneKune pigs and sell piglets. We also garden using green houses to assist with harvest success.
The Project Funded
We are repairing our fencing for our pig pasture areas to ensure their safety and containment. We want to add hog panel and additional t posts to ensure they stay inside their respective areas.
The Project Impact
Our rocky ground makes it hard to sink a post deep enough to hold, and our pigs had learned it. The grant funded hog panels and t-posts to repair our pasture fencing, keeping boars and sows where they belong and off the road behind our house.
