The Farm
Will o the Winds Farm is a first-generation farm located near the shores of Lake Superior. We raise pastured pigs from birth-to-butcher as organically as we can and sell a variety of other products including soap, maple syrup, and garlic at our farm store and at summer farmers’ markets.
The Project Funded
With the grant funding, we will use it to purchase fencing to add another paddock to our pasture infrastructure. With the additional paddock, it will increase the frequency of us rotating our summer pigs and giving more rest time to pastures for increased soil health.
The Project Impact
The grant purchased fencing to add another paddock to our pig pasture. Rotating the hogs more often means less wear on each pasture, more time for cover crops to grow, and healthier soil under every pig on this farm.
