The Farm
Twitter Creek Gardens is a mixed vegetable farm with two acres in cultivation just outside Homer, Alaska. We distribute through CSA shares, farmers markets, restaurants and grocery stores. Supplying nutrient dense vegetables while focusing on inclusivity, land stewardship, and accessibility to low-income consumers are at the forefront of our mission.
The Project Funded
We are working towards filing the gap in the short Alaskan farming season by increasing our winter storage crops, resulting in high yields of root vegetables. We will utilize our For Farmers Grant to upgrade from a hand spray table to a root barrel washer, increasing our efficiency ten-fold.
Project Impact
Our farm supplies produce to over 200 families a week through many sales avenues. To meet the growing demand for winter produce availability, we have boosted our storage crop production substantially. Efficiently processing root crops with a barrel washer will prove monumental to the viability of our winter sales endeavors.
