The Farm
Trust Land Farm is a mixed vegetable farm located in Missoula, Montana that offers produce directly to our community through an on-farm stand and to local restaurants. As of December 2024, the 8-acre farm site became the first community land trust farm (CLT) in Montana and Trust Land Farm has a long-term lease to steward this land.
The Project Funded
Our For Farmers Grant will support purchasing garlic seed stock in 2025.
Project Impact
As a new farm business, we don't have a lot of wiggle room in our budget to navigate unexpected expenses. In farming, there are always unpredictable events and 2025 was a particularly wet spring. For the first time, we experienced some fungal challenges with our garlic. We decided to start fresh with clean garlic seed stock, a big investment for our small farm. The For Farmers Grant is helping us get over this hurdle of unanticipated garlic seed expenses. We purchase our seed from other regional farms, so the money is supporting our farm and other local farmers.
