True Freedom Farm

The Farm

True Freedom Farm is in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Upstate South Carolina, with around 2 acres cultivated and in production. We are in Zone 7, which allows us to have crops coming in all year. We use non-GMO products, ORMI fertilizers, non-GMO seeds, and we never spray- EVER! We use a mixture of composting, crop rotation, cover cropping, and companion planting to keep our soils nutrient dense.

The Project Funded

With the $500 grant, we will purchase a one ton tote of OMRI fertilizer and macro nutrients that the soil and crops need. The fertilizer will give my plants the boost they need to keep producing throughout their life and the macro nutrients will put minerals in the soil that are either locked up for the time being or have been diminished through the past growing year.

Project Impact

With this grant, we are able to keep our operating costs down, which help us keep our pricing down for the community. My top priority is putting high quality produce that is affordable in the kitchens of my community and my family. This goal not only provides income for my family, it aids in the growth of a stronger community.
