The Farm
Our small farm is located in a remote part of Western Wyoming. We raise Rambouillet sheep for their high quality fiber and meat, and enjoy animal husbandry as a way of life. Additionally, we appreciate livestock as a management tool that can add great benefit to the overall health of the ecosystem where we live.
The Project Funded
The grant will be used to purchase native grass seed to plant in our pastures, ensuring we have more fresh feed for our sheep throughout the year, reducing the need for supplemental feed, and improving the local ecosystem for a number of native wildlife species.
Project Impact
This grant will have a substantial impact on our farm as it allows us to grow more feed, increasing the carrying capacity of our farm and giving us the opportunity to raise more animals. In turn, we can expect to grow more wool for textile products and more meat to feed our community.
