The Farm
We are a small 5 acre farm located in the Columbia River Gorge who produces vegetables, herbs, eggs and baked goods to our local community. We use sustainable and regenerative farming practices in an effort to encourage biodiversity which will leave our land better than we found it.
The Project Funded
We plan to use our grant to put our first rain water collection system into place. We will use the money to buy a 1000 gallon water tank which we will place next to our chicken coop. We will then use this collected water to irrigate our plants in the summer months.
The Project Impact
Summer here brings barely a week or two of rain, and our farm draws from a well system shared with dozens of neighbors. The grant helped purchase our first large rainwater collection tank, set beside the chicken coop, beginning a system that eases our draw on shared water.
