The Farm
We're a small first generation farm in the Upper Peninsula (MI); we run a seasonal farmstand. At the stand we supply our rural community with: slow ferment bread, farm fresh eggs, vegetables and flowers. In addition, we raise roughly 20 pasture raised pigs per year providing USDA butchered pork to our community.
The Project Funded
We applied for the For Farmers Movement grant in order to obtain funding for a glass front floral cooler for our seasonal farmstand. This will allow us to supply our community with fresh flowers throughout the hottest part of the season during peak production.
Project Impact
This cooler will have a direct impact on both us and our customers; we will now be able to provide quality flowers we know our community deserves and desires. It will decrease floral waste significantly (time re-bunching, money on unsellable heat killed flowers, energy refilling water buckets etc.)
