The Farm
Setas Mushrooms is an indoor vertical mushroom farm in Greencastle, Pennsylvania, producing gourmet and functional mushrooms year-round. We use low-water, regenerative growing practices to deliver consistent, high-quality food that strengthens local supply chains and supports healthier people and ecosystems.
The Project Funded
The purpose of the For Farmers Grant is to support the integration and automation of on-farm composting using spent mushroom substrate. This investment will improve labor efficiency, reduce waste, build healthy soil, and close the loop between indoor mushroom production and regenerative outdoor growing systems.
Project Impact
The grant will enable Setas Mushrooms to transform spent mushroom substrate into high-quality compost, improving farm efficiency and soil health. This closed-loop system reduces waste, supports local food production, and strengthens community resilience by turning agricultural byproducts into regenerative resources.
