The Farm
We are an Animal Welfare Approved goat dairy, with an on farm creamery where we craft award winning, artisan cheeses. Our herd is pasture raised and we also have a small orchard and a market garden.
The Project Funded
We will be building a rain water collection system and installing a solar-powered fan to bring water and ventilation to our north paddock, which is not served by any utility lines.
Project Impact
This grant will enable our junior bucks and wethers who are housed on the North paddock during the summer to be more comfortable and to have healthier water. Rainwater is the very best water source for goats, as the minerals found in well water can cause nutritional issues. It will also allow our farm to use renewable resources to house and water our goats, reducing the need to run additional utility lines to a seasonal paddock.
