The Farm
Pleasant Grove Homestead raises roughly 900 pasture-raised laying hens in rural Iowa, supplying affordable, locally produced eggs to the surrounding community.

The Transformational grant funds a commercial egg washing system for the farm's flock, eliminating a major labor bottleneck.
The Project Impact
Our commercial egg washing system, funded by the Transformational grant, removes the biggest labor bottleneck on our farm. With roughly 900 pasture-raised hens in lay, washing now happens during regular work hours, strengthening the farm's sustainability and keeping affordable, local eggs flowing in rural Iowa.
