The Farm
Peach Pit Farms is a Certified Naturally Grown 5 acre farm that grows seasonal vegetables, fruits, cut herbs, microgreens, and cut flowers. We sell our produce at farmers markets throughout the Tampa Bay Area. We practice strip or minimal tillage as well as growing living munches to provide natural nutrition to our crops. We are trying to mimic nature.
The Project Funded
The purpose of the grant is to construct an indoor germination chamber out of an existing shipping container. Our farm is in a subtropical climate. So we need a germination chamber that can protect us from hurricanes and extreme hot summers.
Project Impact
The farmers grant will allow us to grow our vegetable seeds in a climate controlled environment as well as protecting our young plants from severe weather threats like hurricanes. We will then be able to provide our produce to our community much sooner and increase our availability.
