The Farm

Oak Meadows Farm is a small, community-centered farm in Ferndale, WA. We raise eggs, operate a hatchery, and run Acorn Market, our on-farm store showcasing products from local partner farms. We focus on collaboration, shared processing space, and creating a strong, accessible local food network.

The Project Funded

The grant helped convert our three-sided shed into a fully enclosed, WSDA-licensed processing room. This space supports egg packing for our farm, honey bottling for our beekeeper, and occasional lamb cut-and-wrap and value-added processing for our sheep producer, creating a shared micro-facility that benefits multiple farms.

Project Impact

The grant created a shared WSDA-licensed space that supports our eggs, our beekeeper’s honey, and our sheep producer’s value-added products. This small facility has increased efficiency, reduced processing barriers, and strengthened collaboration between local farms, improving access to locally produced food for our community.
