The Farm
Muz and Poppies is a specialty cut flower farm tucked against the foothills of Monroe Mountain in what is known as the “Little Green Valley” of Monroe, UT.
This farm was once used as a sheep grazing allotment, then a working dairy farm until 1964. After purchasing the property in early 2020, we have restored the old farmhouse, dairy barn, and most importantly the soil.
The Project Funded
The grant supported the conversion of a manger and milk room in an old dairy barn to a floral processing room.
The Project Impact
Last season I was waking at 4 a.m. to cut and process flowers without a proper workspace. The grant supported converting the manger and milk room of our old dairy barn into a floral processing room, starting with bringing power to the barn at last.
