The Farm

Liberation Farms provides new American families with the tools and resources to grow healthy, culturally-appropriate foods for themselves and their community. This investment in growing nourishes body and soul as farmers ground into familiar traditions and meaningfully utilize their agricultural roots as they build new homes here in Maine.

The Project Funded

Liberation Farms currently has nine Iskashito (cooperative) groups who each farm on ⅓ of an acre. Because there are so many farmers involved, we need additional garden carts to transport produce from the fields to our wash pack station. This will increase produce quality and create efficiencies on the farm.

The Project Impact

Nine Iskashito cooperative groups farm here, and on harvest day all nine carry produce to the wash station at once. The grant added garden carts to move harvests out of the sun and into the wash and pack line, easing the load for every farmer in the program.
