The Farm

Haven Honey Farms is a 2.5 acre, Black-led, intergenerational farm near Birmingham, Alabama. We tend 40+ hives on the land, whose honey, wax, and propolis nourishes our family and our community through a local, affordable Black farmer centered CSA.

The Project Funded

We will use the grant to expand our beekeeping mentorship program and strengthen processing capacity by supplying new beekeepers with essential equipment and upgrading honey storage and processing tools. This investment will increase our ability to mentor participants and help them confidently establish their own apiaries.

Project Impact

The For Farmers grant will expand Haven Honey Farms’ capacity to mentor new beekeepers, harvest more honey, and support local pollinators. By strengthening processing infrastructure and equipping beginning farmers, the grant will increase food access, ecological stewardship, and income-generating opportunities for Black and low-income community members.
