The Farm
Flying Pig Cattle Co is a diversified farm in Arkansas that raises commercial beef cattle, registered Miniature Herefords, a jersey cow, as well as meat and dairy goats. We sell raw cow and goat milk and small batch goat milk soaps.
The Project Funded
When we started selling raw milk, we were given a hand-me-down refrigerator for our milking parlor. We were very grateful, but that refrigerator is on its last leg, and could crash any day. We plan to use the For Farmers Grant to purchase a new fridge.
Project Impact
This grant is allowing us to make a purchase that would keep getting pushed down the priority list until it became an emergency. Having a working fridge helps us to continue to provide nutritious, farm fresh raw milk for people in our community.
