The Farm
Finca Brisa Encantada is a small, diversified farm in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico. We grow avocados, bananas, tropical fruits, and vegetables, keep bees and chickens, and make value-added foods. Our farm is rooted in care for the land and community with a focus on agroecology.
The Project Funded
The For Farmers Movement grant will help us purchase a small solar and battery system to keep our refrigerator and freezer running during power outages. Reliable power protects our harvest, reduces stress, and allows us to care for our products even when the grid fails.
Project Impact
The grant will reduce food loss, support a small local farm, and help keep fresh, locally made foods available despite power outages. Building resilience on our farm strengthens the wider farming community, it supports Puerto Rico’s local food system and helps our community rely less on imported foods.
