The Farm

Earnest Roots Farm is run by Josh and Kiley Morrison, alongside their two boys, who are growing up learning responsibility, work ethic, and respect for animals and the land. Farming is not just our livelihood — it is how we teach, how we live, and how we pass on what was entrusted to us.

We raise pasture-raised chicken, pork, beef, and lamb using regenerative practices that prioritize animal welfare, soil health, and transparency. Our chickens are raised on true pasture, moved to fresh grass daily, and fed clean, thoughtfully sourced feed options. We believe in whole-animal use, honoring each animal by minimizing waste and turning byproducts into nourishing dog treats, tallow skincare, beeswax goods, and soil-building compost that feeds the land again.

In addition to our meats, we produce raw honey from our own beehives, handcrafted beeswax items, tallow-based skincare, and farm-made goods that reflect old-fashioned quality and simplicity. Everything we offer is something we use in our own home and feed to our own family.

At the heart of Earnest Roots Farm is faith, family, and a commitment to honest farming. We believe in doing things the way they were meant to be done — with care, patience, and purpose — while building something sustainable for the generations to come.

When you support Earnest Roots Farm, you’re not just buying food. You’re supporting a family, preserving a way of life, and becoming part of a story that values roots, responsibility, and real food raised the right way.

The Project Funded

Our Grant is going to be used to build a new mobile chicken shelter for our laying flock of chickens. This will allow us to regrow our chicken flock after devastating loss and provide eggs for the community again.

Project Impact

When our laying flock was hit hard earlier this year by a predator, we lost the majority of our flock. There is a high demand in our community for our pasture raised eggs. With this grant, we will be able to build a more secure structure and regrow the flock to ensure egg availability for the community.
