The Farm

Our farm is located in the Appalachian mountains of western Maryland. We are growing a herd of Limousin and Limousin cross cattle and sell our grass fed and finished beef directly to our local community. We care for our cattle daily from birth to harvest, and provide locally raised beef through farmers markets, a monthly beef subscription, and on farm pick up.

The Project Funded

We are excited to put the grant money towards opening a farm store to sell our beef and other products from our farm. I can't wait to have a place where customers can not only come to buy beef but also see the farm where their food is being raised, because that level of transparency is very important in connecting with our community. We will be purchasing a glass front freezer for the store to better display the variety of cuts of beef that we offer.

The Project Impact

Ever since we bought this farm I have dreamed of opening a farm store. The grant is helping make it real, including a two-door glass front freezer to display our beef, giving customers set hours to shop and see exactly where their food is raised.
