The Farm

Ascutney Harvest is a small-scale, human-powered, no-till farm growing certified organic vegetables, herbs, microgreens and flowers at the base of Mt. Ascutney in Vermont.

The Project Funded

This grant provides a portion of the funding to purchase a commercial salad spinner to replace the hand-crank spinner currently in use. This would significantly increase the efficiency of washing greens by allowing for hands-free operation and holding five times more greens.

The Project Impact

Purchasing a commercial salad spinner would allow us to greatly increase our efficiency washing salad mix, which is one of our most popular and important, but also most time-consuming, crops. We could use this extra time to grow more or to accomplish our existing total workload in less time.
