Apply for a For Farmers Grant

This is it!  This application is your ticket to finding funding for something you need on your farm to help you get to the next level, to get by, to get going! What you apply for is up to you!

Available Grants:

Foundational Grants: $500 to $1000 for infrastructure, equipment, supplies, innovation, making up for a loss and more. We will award a minimum of 100 of these grants.

​

Land Stewardship Grant: $5,000 for a farm that is committed to caring for the land in ways that strengthen soil, protect natural resources, and support the long-term health of the farm and its surrounding ecosystem. We will award one Land Stewardship Grant. Made possible with support from Progressive Hedonist.

Transformational Grant: $10,000 for farm project that has a profound impact on farm operations and the community. We will award at least one Transformational Grant. Made possible with support from a private foundation.

• We will host three Q&As -- one in July, one in August and one in September.  You will get an email to sign up.

All grants must use this application to apply.

Foundational Grants will be considered and awarded based on this application alone.

 

To apply for the Land Stewardship Grant and the Transformational Grant, farmers must submit the same application (and must apply for a foundational grant). The application includes questions where you share your concept/idea for those projects. The grant review committee will request additional materials from some applicants based on those concepts and will review them following the announcement of the Foundational grants. Awards for the Land Stewardship and Transformational grants will be announced in February 2027.

Applications Open: WEDNESDAY, JULY 1, 2026 

 

Deadline: MONDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2026 (by midnight EST)

Grant Announcements: For Farmers announces grant awardees on the first Wednesday after Thanksgiving.

 

BONUS POINTS: You can earn bonus points on your application as follows:

• 5 points for adding your thoughts about your work and its challenges or suggestions for the For Farmers Movement to the For Farmers Listening Tour

• 5 points for creating a Wish List for your farm (must be in working order to earn points) 

• 5 points for applying in July

• 3 points for applying in August

• 1 point for applying in September
